Cable Ferry Service Available for Addison County Commuters
Dateline: Shoreham
The ferry service on Route 17 near the site of the Crown Point Bridge is available 24-hours-per day. Additional seasonal ferry service is available between Shoreham, VT and Ticonderoga, NY as well as Charlotte, VT to Essex, NY. Ground breaking for the new bridge happened in June and construction of the new span is underway. The new bridge is not expected to open until late summer in 2011. |

Onion River Sports Century Ride Benefits Library
Dateline: Central Vermont
It has become a popular annual event. Onion River Sports of Montpelier hosts a "century" bicycle ride to benefit the Kellogg-Hubbard library. There are three loop courses available - from 24-miles up to 110-miles. All begin and end at Montpelier Recreation Field on Elm Street (Route 12) north of Montpelier. WDEV will provide updates. |
